We had some
"Very Interesting Comments" regarding our Centennial Hills Picnic
last Saturday. This should be interesting reading.
For being
our 1st picnic for the community, with all the wind and the turnout, it
ended up being better than we had expected. We received quite a few
ideas and learned a lot for next year.
The goal
with AnnRd.com
when putting these events together, is to introduce and bring awareness
to the Centennial Hills residents, of all the local businesses in our
immediate area. They are the ones that made this picnic possible by
donating their time, products and services.
Enjoy the
comments. These will be updated as we get more.

"I
think this was a wonderful idea, i even took the day off work to attend.
unfortunately to my frustration i had lost the tickets i printed and
tried for hours to search for the webiste or info again to attend and
confirm that it was in fact going on but a search on google, ask.com and
other search engines returned nothing. maybe an automated email reminder
for people who sign up would be nice as well as an email for next year".

"We won't waist our
time. It was lame. The PICNIC was a hot dog, and you couldn't even get
one until you went to every booth. People don't come to parties for the
booths. Sometimes people will visit the booths as they eat, but that
wasn't even an option. We left as soon as we discovered how it had to
work, so did 3 other families we were with".
"Overall Experience: Excellent. "lack of organization and
commitment from other vendors to help work outside of their booths.
Assign a few vendors half hour blocks of time to be responsible for
helping with trash, tickets, etc. "
"DidntLike:
the wind & distance from home. Like: how friendly everyone was"
"Change: If
you are going to make everyone get a stamp for all vendors in order to
get food, then at least put the vendors in order of the card.
DidntLike: I had to go to vendors I would never use in order to get
the free food advertised. See: All advertised vendors."

|
"Experience: Good. See: more appealing things to keep kids busy/intertained.
StaffFriendly: very much so." |
|
"Experience: Excellent. Like: FREE FOOD. See: MORE VENDORS" |

"It
should have been made clear that you would have to visit all the vendors
to get food in the advertisements. DidntLike: Feeling like I had to
visit all the vendors to get a hot dog. Experience: Poor. I would love
to see community picnics with no strings attached. Business should be
welcome to showcase their services, but being required to get signatures
was embarrassing. Had I not promised my son a picnic at the park, I
would have left immediately upon being handed the signature card.
Smooth: Yes, but there seemed to be some concern about running out of
food and water."
"I thought I was
bringing my son to a community event for fun. Instead it was a business
showcase. I was extremely disappointed in being told that I would have
to get signatures from each business before I could ask for food. Having
brought a small hungry child, this was both tiresome and annoying. It
should have been advertised for what it was, a business showcase with
food available for visiting x number of businesses. In that case I would
have stayed home. This was not a family event. I felt very misled and
disappointed. Have no desire to attend an event like this again". |

"Change: Lay-out could be improved. Enjoyed: Absolutely." |
|
Change: nothing. Expected: Yes, even better! Like: organization / cards.
Thank you so much Randy. Your events are going to be the main ones I
plan on doing from now on. Angelina N". |

"Change: the passport & wrist bands. Experience: Good. A lot of people
did not get the passports completed because they had the wrist bands to
eat". |
|
"Experience: Excellent. Like: Free Face Painting, Hotdogs and Bounce
House". |
|
"Change: START EARLIER. See: MORE VENDORS". |
"We
so enjoyed the picnic/bbq. What a great way to get our name out to our
neighborhood and surrounding business'. We made alot of great contacts
and we are looking forward to doing business with them. Thanks again
Pottery Jamboree LLC....".

"Change: More vendors, location. Expected: Less vendors than expected.
Like: Learned of buisness' I didn't know about. Could put a sign up for
event. Had people drive by me when leaving, asking what was going on.
Put sign up for check in booth. Have more food. People love to eat and
try different food!".

"Like: Being able to meet local merchants (local to Cent. Hills), and
the lunch was nice. Thank you - a great marketing tool, not just for the
merchants, but for residents looking to do business on more of a "small
town" level. One trivial comment: I was surprised to see how many
"network marketing" businesses had booths (could be seen as positive or
negative)." |
|
"DidntLike:
Most of the attendees were just there for the free food. Experience:
Fair." |
|
"Can't wait until next year. Thank Randy and all the staff." |
|
"The food was excellent, especially the chicken BBQ, the Italian garlic
bread and cole slaw.I like to see more food vendors participation and
food testing. The picnic was good get together for the community. Good
job. Thank you for inviting us." |
|
"Experience: Good. Change: don't give wrist bands till finished with the
card stamps. " |
|
"As you can see, we have a few different ideas of
what this event was all about."
Introducing local businesses to the
Centennial Hills Community
through fun, food, information and entertainment.
Next year will be even better.
